Last night I was reading Justice League and there was the “Atom” – only it was a black female instead of the professor – like wtf…..acting exactly like some male nothing female about “it” at all..

You must be talking about Rhonda Pineda who is Hispanic. She is eventually shown to be a villian from the future who was planted to spy on the Justice League and is eventually killed. She is one of a series of Atoms who has replaced Ray Palmer and eventually killed.

This trend of replacing/murdering/transgendering/etc. white heterosexual male characters reminds me of the Soviet
Union’s airbrushing of Politburo members who had fallen out of favor with Stalin.

Now lets note that Al Simmons, who is black, was replaced by Jim Downing (who is white) as Spawn and the Black Panther has been replaced by a woman and Luke Cage’s mantle of Power Man now belongs to a Hispanic kid. Bishop was retconned to be an Australian Oboriginal.

So changes won’t only occur with white characters.

I think that the brouhaha made over this is a bit exaggerated and similarly a case of jumping the gun. As has been shown, Thor is not becoming a woman. The funny thing is that his brother Loki actually does physically become a woman in a storyline not too long ago and remains that way for a while. There were no complaints about that.
